Shaq brings dominance to the team and a sense of urgency

In his third entry, Amare spills on Shaq, Marcus Banks, and the NBA playoffs.

As I'm sure you know, everyone's been buzzing about the huge trade with Shaq and Shawn and Marcus Banks. I have been so fortunate to play with Shawn, and I'll always think of him as a good friend. They are all very different and very good players, and I'm glad to have had a chance to play with Shawn and Marcus, and I look forward to playing with Shaq.

I'm very excited about this change. Shaq brings dominance to the team and a sense of urgency, which I think will be huge for our team. He is a world champion. He has had his way against the best, like Duncan, Gasol to Dave Robinson. He will absolutely be a dominant force in the playoffs, and someone who will be key in helping us win a title. I think this trade sends the message to other Western Conference contenders that we are serious about the playoffs and winning the title.

It means a lot that I get to play the power forward position. It's my natural position, and it will allow me to be more versatile in this role, using my speed, my quickness, and toughness combined. Our team will know continue to capitalize on our versatility and keep adjusting ourselves, as we get into the Playoffs.
