In his fourth entry, Amare comes back and spills on All Star.
It's been awhile since I've written, but let me catch you guys up on what's been going on. Well, All Star passed, and I had a really great time. I brought out the whole family and my new marketing team, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves- I know that I sure did. New Orleans was a great city to host All Star this year...it really felt like we were giving back to the city, and I could tell the people there were really excited to have all of us. There is so much history and culture behind everything...there's something really special about being able to hear music at every corner.
So I got in to New Orleans at four in the morning because we played the SPURS the night before. I didn't get to bed until about five, since I had to unpack and everything. Then I had to get right back up at 8:30. At first, I didn't really understand what was going on when I got the wakeup call, but I'm used to the travel and early mornings, so I got right up and head out to the technology summit, which was the first appearance of the day.
This tech summit is all about the latest and greatest in technology, and I listened in on the panel about using the web and online social networks to get information across in a big way. Of course, it's what I'm all about, such as with my website, www.amarestoudemire.com, and even this blog that I write! I got to meet a lot of high-powered people, like CNN's Wolf Blitzer and the heads of Ticketmaster, Facebook, and T-Mobile.
After that, I had orientations for All Star, since I was in the Shooting Stars Event on Saturday and the big game on Sunday. Afterwards, we went over to help rebuild a couple houses in New Orleans east. It was crazy driving out that way. I was actually in New Orleans a couple years ago donating some cars to Katrina victims, and I was shocked that it's been about two years, and it seems not much as changed.
I had a couple more appearances. One for Nike at Footlocker, which is always cool. Seeing the fans up close and personal, and then finally a corporate dinner with Steve for FedEx. I spoke at the dinner, and got to taste some of the good New Orleans food. The weekend didn't slow down at all. I barely went out at night because the days were packed, and I wanted to rest for the big game and the Saturday event. As you can see, All Star really isn't a break! But I don't mind. It's always an honor for me.

Hey Amare great to c ur post again. The All-Star game is awesome but it's a shame that the West lost to the East...
Anyway the happy weekend is over and the playoff is coming. It was so nervous for our Suns' fans to see u guys unstable after the weekend, but now it seems everything is getting back to the right track.
I'm living in China.Though a long long distance from u,I still can c that u r playing much happier than ever b4 since Shaq's arrival.Playing in a good team is important, but playing in a harmonious team is more important.Glad to c u 2 big men work 2gether so well.
Perhaps u would wonder why people seldom mention ur name in the MVP list, but I say u r really having a bid year.Let's forget the MVP for regular season,'cause the Final MVP's still waiting there:)
