When Washington Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson told the Washington Post that LeBron James was “overrated", no one knew the words would spark the most entertaining story line in this year’s NBA playoffs. In response to Stevenson’s comments, LeBron would only offer this retort: “With DeShawn Stevenson it is kind of funny. It’s almost like Jay-Z saying something bad about Soulja Boy. There’s no comparison. Enough said.”
Certainly the comment was enough for Soulja Boy to chime in at his displeasure with James. “I took that as [disrespectful]” Soulja Boy told Cleveland's The Plain Dealer.
As fate would have it, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are now three games deep into a heated playoff battle with DeShawn Stevenson and the Washington Wizards. Having already been ousted from the playoffs by James and company two years in a row, the Wizards/Cavaliers match-up was already going to be a contentious series. But the culmination of this rivalry came to a head when Stevenson flew Soulja Boy out to Washington, D.C. to attend Thursday night’s game three courtside at the Verizon Center. The Wizards ended up beating the Cleveland Cavaliers by 30 points. No word yet on whether or not Jay-Z will be attending a game.
