If an artist gets the most nominations for their work on other people’s songs, but no nominations for their own songs, is that a success? T-Pain will have to answer that question, as the singer was nominated for five BET Awards last night.
The singer is featured on the hooks of Kanye West’s “Good Life”, Flo Rida’s “Low”, Chris Brown’s “Kiss Kiss” in the Best Collaborations category. “Good Life” was also nominated for Video of the Year, and “Kiss Kiss” was nominated in the Viewer’s Choice Award category.
Other multiple nominees were Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, and Keyshia Cole. The 2008 BET Awards will air on the network, June 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
