Forget Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the rest of the NBA for a second. If you’re looking for the real superstars this week, check iTunes. The release schedule is literally jam-packed this week with Eminem releasing his first album Relapse (Shady/Aftermath) in five years, Busta Rhymes dropping his long-awaited Back On My B.S. (Flipmode/Universal Motown), Drama coming through with Gangsta Grillz 2 (Grand Hustle/Atlantic), Lionel Richie returning for Just Go (Island) and Method Man and Redman making a comeback on Blackout! 2 (Def Jam). It’s almost a little too crowded, considering that Chrisette Michele topped the charts last week and was the lowest-selling album to ever do so.
Nonetheless, we’re banking on the fact that May 19 is about to make some history and putting our money where our mouth is with a special MEGA BUCK SHOT. This week, 12 VIBE staffers had the opportunity to bet $1 on the total sales of each of the five albums listed above. The closest to guessing the sales for each album without going over wins the pot for that album. Scroll the next five pages to see how the guesses broke down for each album. Come back next week to see who won what and how they did it.
