Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal is increasing his real estate portfolio. The big man just dropped $235k on... a pretty reasonable new home in Mount Dora, FL, a town not too far outside of Orlando. Why is this newsworthy? Well, because Shaq already owns an enormous, palatial home near Orlando, the city where he began his NBA career as the no. 1 overall pick in 1992. The former Magic/Lakers/Heat/Suns/Cavs/Celtics center even had an entire episode of MTV Cribs dedicated to his mansion in FL, which includes a full-size basketball court.
So why did Shaq decided to buy a pretty regular place? Perhaps as a guest house for his guest house? Maybe a spot for family to stay in when they come to visit, if all 11 of his bedrooms are currently occupied? Maybe he wants a place to play indoor paintball? Maybe it was a mistake. Honestly, when you're worth hundreds of millions of dollars, you're bound to buy some stuff by accident, like forgetting there's a candy bar in your cart at the super market.
