Yes, Thanksgiving always causes Americans to eagerly await it's arrival, but the real November treat is Black Friday. This year, the shopper's holiday set an all new record.
Black Friday 2012 pulled in a total of $1.042 billion (a 26% change from 2011's figures), earning it the title of the year's heaviest online spending day. Instead of just hitting the shops, 57 million American consumers tackled their holiday wishlists via the web. For the first time in history, e-commerce sales surpassed the $1 billion mark.
Amazon.com was the top visited site on both Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Walmart followed closely behind.
