Man Killed After Being Pushed In Front of NYC Subway Train

Adelle Platon Posted December 4, 2012

A Queens man was allegedly pushed in front of an oncoming NYC train and killed according to a surveillance video released Monday night by police.

Ki Suk Han, 53, of Elmhurst, is seen being hit by a southbound train after a suspect shoved him onto the tracks, CBS News reports. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Monday at a subway station close to Times Square at 49th Street and 7th Avenue.

The video shows Han arguing with another man that he apparently did not know. He was then taken to Roosevelt Hospital, but is believed to have died at the scene after being crushed in between the train and the platform. The sight of the incident caused the conductor to be treated for trauma.

"[Han] was moving, he was shaking his head up and down," witness Joel Parkington told WCBS. "I left before he stopped breathing. When I was leaving, was still alive."

Police are still searching for the suspect, who is described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, around 5 feet 10 inches, weighing approximately 240 pounds. The man reportedly has short dreadlocks and was wearing a grey T-shirt, a down coat and a beanie-style knit cap at the time of the attack.
