According to NFL.com, Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid has been fired following the football team's 4-12 season.
Reid, 54, has coached the Eagles since 1999. His fourteen years with the team has brought them to nine playoff games, including five NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl. The Eagles lost to the New England Patriots at Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie let Reid go during a meeting on Friday (Dec. 28), where Reid was told Sunday's game against the New York Giants would be his last with the team. The Eagles got swept by the Blue and Red, 42-7. An official announcement from the Eages is expected to come on Monday, Dec. 31.
Reid was the NFL's longest-tenured coach and had a record of 130-92-1 during the regular season.
