In this exclusive clip from the official Decoded iPhone app, Jay-Z discusses his lyrics from the third single from his sophomore album, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1

third single, On the track “The City is Mine," Hov spits: "A world with amnesia won't forget your name," he goes to explain why he continuously “bigs up” The Notorious B.I.G. in his rhymes.

"It was my way of always keeping him fresh and keeping his music fresh on everyone's mind,” explained Jay-Z. So, if I'm inspired by it, I just use it. It's not a crutch for me."
