"Non-violence is a weapon unique in history, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it."--Martin Luther King, Jr.
Martin was heavily influenced by Mahatma Gandhi's success with non-violent activism and in 1959 took a life changing visit to India. On the the trip he gained a deeper understanding of Gandhi's teachings and what he needed to do for America's civil rights struggle. After that trip, the rest is history.
