10 Celebrities Who Would Be Better Off if They Didn't Have a Cell Phone
Kanye West doesn't carry a cell phone. Yep. Despite the fact that he's one of the most popular rappers in the world and that there are probably tons of important people out there who'd like to get in touch with him, Yeezy doesn't have an iPhone, a BlackBerry, or an Android-powered smart phone. We know that because French Montana told us all about it earlier this week. Instead of packing a cell, 'Ye relies on good old electronic mail to keep in touch with others. It's so 1997 of him. And yet, it's really not all that surprising when you consider who we're talking about here.
What we are surprised about is that more artists haven't taken this approach to cell phones. Sure, cell phones are convenient and everyone (including your grandmother!) has one these days. But when we really sit back and think about it, there are a lot of celebrities out there who would have kept themselves out of a lot of trouble in the past if they didn't have a cell phone at the time. From those who used their cell phones as weapons (SMH!) to those who had their phones hacked, there are plenty of celebs out there who'd probably be better off right now if they'd never signed up for a two-year cell phone contract at some point in their lives. To show you what we mean, we put together a list of the top offenders and pointed out what might have happened if they'd never gotten cell phones. It might be time get off the grid, guys. The Celebrity: Foxy Brown
If She Didn't Have A Cell Phone...She wouldn't have been arrested in 2007 for "menacing a neighbor with a cell phone." What does that even mean, Foxy? Did you throw it at her? Beat her over the head with it? Force her to listen to Soulja Boy ringtones? Whatever it was, it wasn't good and it landed you in a boatload of legal trouble. Without the cell phone, all of it could have been avoided.
The Celebrity: Drake
If He Didn't Have A Cell Phone...He wouldn't have gotten caught at Hot 97 freestyling off his BlackBerry on Funkmaster Flex's show. Remember how embarrassing that was for dude? Of course, that would mean he'd have to actually, you know, memorize his "freestyles." Oh, and we didn't forget about all those drunk voice mails Drizzy's left for chicks at 4 o'clock in the morning, either. Word to "Marvin's Room," this guy needs to throw his 'Berry into a lake.

If He Didn't Have A Cell Phone...He wouldn't have been spotted at an AT&T store in New York City last year trying to argue down a $9000 cell phone bill. A nine thousand dollar cell phone, Busta? Who are you talking to all day? Every rapper you've ever done a remix with? Sheesh.

If She Didn't Have A Cell Phone...Naked pictures of her wouldn't have leaked on the 'net back in 2010. Then again, maybe we should give Trina four or five more cell phones.

If He Didn't Have A Cell Phone...We wouldn't have had to see that picture. You know the picture we're talking about. The one where we had to identify him based off the watch he was wearing. Ewwwwwww. We looked like you in this photo when it came out, Brett.

If He Didn't Have A Cell Phone...He wouldn't have had to sit back while racy photos of his wife LaLa leaked to the Web after his phone was stolen last summer during an exhibition basketball game. It's one thing to have your own photos leak. It's an entirely other thing to leak someone else's flicks after keeping them stored on your cell.

If She Didn't Have A Cell Phone...There wouldn't be semi-nude (and fully nude NSFW shots) of her all over Google Images right now. SMH. You're better than that, Rih-Rih.

If He Didn't Have A Cell Phone...He wouldn't have had to threaten to release a video of a girl stealing his cell phone out of his pocket after a concert in Vancouver last year. He did eventually get it back. But, we've got some advice, Cole: You're probably not gonna need your phone during a show. So leave it backstage. Preferably in a very safe place.
