The Rapper: Snoop Dogg
The Stunt: In July 2012, Snoop announced that he was releasing a reggae album and changing his moniker to Snoop Lion, a name that had been given to him by a Rastafarian priest during a trip to Jamaica.
How Well Did It Work? By simply changing one part of his name, Snoop was able to inject a lot of interest into his new reggae project, Reincarnated. Unfortunately, that interest didn't help him sell very many copies of the album. After being released last month, Reincarnated sold just 21,000 copies in its first week.
