Certified Banger: "Confessions Part II"-Usher
Power: Tell the truth. You were ready to bury the career of A-Town music godfather Jermaine Dupri. Sure, you acknowledged his door-opening accomplishments as the founder of the label imprint So So Def that featured million sellers Kriss Kross, Xscape, and Da Brat. You took notice of his savvy handling of scream-inducing teen idol Lil' Bow Wow, but never equated his work along the same iconic levels of his contemporaries. That is until Dupri pulled off two of this past decade's biggest musical coups-Usher's diamond-selling monster Confessions (2004) and Mariah Carey's multi-platinum comeback album Emancipation of Mimi (2005). You then promptly realized there's a reason you are not in the music business.
