The Rapper: Erick Sermon
The Hip-Hop Duo He Was A Part Of: EPMD
His Solo Accomplishments: Sermon was a part of one of the most important and prolific hip-hop duos of all time. But on several occasions, he had disagreements with PMD and split from him to focus on his solo stuff. That was bad for hip-hop in a lot of ways, because it deprived us of even more heat than we got from EPMD. But it was also good because it allowed Sermon to release six solo albums, including his solo debut, 1993's No Pressure, and his second solo album, 1995's Double or Nothing, which both reached the top 35 on the Billboard 200 chart.
