When Dr. Dre released the menacing Eazy-E diss record, “Dre Day,” which featured then rookie MC Snoop Dogg, we had no idea that more than 20 years later the city of Compton would offer Dr. Dre an actual “Dre Day” and a key to the city.

Last week, Compton’s Mayor Aja Brown did just that as an acknowledgement of Dre’s entrepreneurial achievements. But the former N.W.A. member isn’t the first celebrity that’s gained political connects. Check out this list of entertainers who (you might be surprised) also received a key to the city.
