There's no way you could've missed the memo: 2013 is the new 1993. Bucket hats and rap "crews" are popping up again. Producers are sampling '90s R&B jams (see: J. Cole's "Cole Summer," Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice"). And we're seeing a slew of hip-hop artists with lyrical styles inspired by '90s flows. Even as they channel throwback rap, though, they've also got a style all their own.
