E-40’s son Droop-E has been producing for Sick Wid It Records since 2003 and rapping for longer than that, but he stepped out on his own with the phenomenal Sade-influenced mixtape BLVCK DIAMOND in 2010. He’s worked with Kendrick Lamar, Mistah F.A.B. and Too Short, but his latest single, “N The Traffic," featuring the dreamy songstress Nite Jewel and West Coast peer J. Stalin, is one of the best songs of 2013, as he’s stepped up his drop-top raps and refined his bass-heavy production. His Hungry & Humble EP is set to drop on July 16.
