20 Rappers Who Should Fight In A Celebrity Boxing Match

Chris Yuscavage Posted November 16, 2012
Why do rappers want to fight so much all of a sudden? Last week, the founders of Celebrity Boxing offered 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. $5 million each to participate in a three-round boxing match—and Fif agreed to take part in it almost immediately (Money May has yet to respond, so we're guessing he's a no-go). Just days before that, Gucci Mane took to his Twitter account and challenged any rapper out there who wants to step into the boxing ring to holler to him. And, just a few short months ago, Chris Brown and Drake were offered the opportunity to take part in a boxing match with a $1 million purse (Breezy accepted, but Drizzy declined). There are apparently a lot of guys out there who want to duke it out with one another.

So, why don't more of them actually follow through with their ideas and do it? Seriously. We don't condone violence that ends with rappers getting seriously injured or, worse, killed. But, if done properly, we think there are some rappers out there who we'd really, really like to see together in a boxing ring. So, we went ahead and put together a list of 20 Rappers Who Should Fight In A Celebrity Boxing Match. What do you say, guys? Care to go a few rounds?
The Match: Game vs. Ras Kass
Why We'd Love To See It: These two have already reportedly fought twice. But, we didn't actually get to see either of the fights, so we have no idea who "won." Game says he did. Ras Kass says he got blindsided both times. So, why not fight the fair way and do it in front of everyone? Something tells us Game would get the W. But, with Ras' career slumping in recent years, we would definitely expect to see him come out swinging.
The Match: Ice-T vs. Soulja Boy
Why We'd Love To See It: Ice-T is slowly turning into an old man. We hate saying that, because it makes some of us feel old. But, he's 54! SB, on the other hand, was born in 1990 (that also makes some of us feel old!). So, conventional thinking would say that Soulja would take this fight easily. But, conventional thinking doesn't take "old man strength," which we're betting Ice-T has, into account. So, we'd like to see these two settle their score (remember when they were beefing a few years back?) once and for all. We know Ice-T would accept the challenge (if he didn't, we'd call him old and bait him into it). But, would Soulja?
The Match: Shyne vs. Diddy
Why We'd Love To See It: Deep down, Shyne hates Diddy. Sure, they've kicked it a few times over the course of the last few years. But, c'mon: Shyne went to jail for almost a decade because of Puff! So, you just know he's got a couple combos with Diddy's name written on them. But, don't sleep on Diddy. When his puts his mind to something, he usually succeeds. So, this would wind up being a hell of a match.
The Match: Gucci Mane vs. Young Jeezy
Why We'd Love To See It: We're convinced that these two are going to have beef forever. Although they've patched things up several times now, they always end up beefing again. So, why not (try and) end it once and for all? Gucci is looking for a fight. Jeezy has gotten into his fair share of fights over the years. Um, hellllllllllo? JUST FIGHT EACH OTHER ALREADY! If you're gonna beef back and forth anyway, you might as well get somebody to pay you $1 million for it.
The Match: Diggy Simmons vs. J. Cole
Why We'd Love To See It: We know, we know. Diggy is the son of Rev. Run and he'd never fight. But, yo: Didn't Cole say something about his sister once? Oh, thems fightin' words! We wouldn't expect this match to last too long (these two guys are both super slight so one of them would end up taking an L relatively quickly) but this is another beef that's never really been resolved. So, why not duke it out and get it over with?
The Match: Joe Budden vs. Raekwon
Why We'd Love To See It: Remember the time Raekwon sent a couple of his goons to rough Jumpoff up after he talked slick about several Wu-Tang members? Well, this time around, we'd like to see Rae handle his own biz. Budden looks like he'd be a lot quicker than Rae, while Rae looks like he'd probably pack a better punch. But, we'd probably give the edge to Joey. Revenge is a dish best served in the boxing ring.
The Match: Lil Kim vs. Nicki Minaj
Why We'd Love To See It: We have to put at least one pair of females in the ring, right? Well, then here they are. And, truthfully, we'd probably like to see this fight more than most of the other ones listed here. Nicki is always talking about laying somebody out (hi, Mariah!). And, Kim has been coming at Nicki's neck for awhile now. So, this would be a royal rumble, for sure. Once and for all, we'd be able to crown the Queen of Hip-Hop.
The Match: Rick Ross vs. Action Bronson
Why We'd Love To See It: People used to love watching Eric Esch (aka "Butterbean") fight. Why? Well, to be blunt: Because he was fat and, yet, he could still box. We have no idea if either Rozay or Action can fight. But, watching them square up would be like having two Butterbeans in the ring at the same damn time. The ring might need to be reinforced a little that night—and we wouldn't be surprised if the "boxing" match turned into an all-out WWE brawl at some point—but it'd be an amazing fight to watch, to say the least.
The Match: 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule
Why We'd Love To See It: Do we really have to explain this one? To be honest, there's a small part of us that wants to see this fight more than the potential Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight. It'd be that epic.
The Match: Lil Wayne & Young Money vs. Kanye West & G.O.O.D. Music
Why We'd Love To See It: Forget Celebrity Boxing. How 'bout Celebrity Wrestling?! We can picture it in our heads now: Tyga with Big Sean in a chokehold. Pusha T delivering a leg drop to Gudda Gudda. Lil Chuckee and Lil Twist clotheslining Kid Cudi. Yes, yes, YES! Where do we send our $49.99?
