15. Wu-Tang Clan still Ain’t Nuthin’ Ta F Wit, 20 years later.
In April, the Wu kicked off the 20th anniversary year of their debut album by shutting down (and taking over) Coachella, sand storms and all. After the show, rumors swirled that a brand new Wu-Tang Clan album would be out by the end of the year to commemorate the anniversary.
That still hasn’t happened, but Drake didn’t seem to care: he caused a stir when he released the tracklist to Nothing Was The Same and revealed a track called “Wu-Tang Forever,” only to later leak the song for fans to realize that he was singing on the whole thing. Trolling or not, members of the Wu appreciated the salute, and many apparently recorded verses for an official remix, but it’s still nowhere to be seen.
One thing remains clear: two entire decades after the Wu cratered the hip-hop landscape, they’re still as relevant as ever.
