5 Artists Who Should Sign To Roc Nation

Desire Thompson Posted February 7, 2013
Jay-Z and Roc Nation are giving music heads a lot to anticipate in 2013. With Wale and J.Cole releasing new heat this year, plus the news of Timbaland and Kylie Minougue joining the management team (not to mention an alleged Jay Electronica album in the oven...sigh), the label is crossing all genre barriers.

Check out 5 gifted acts Roc Nation might want to snatch up next.
T.I
With Trouble Man making its way to gold status, it'll be T.I.'s eighth consecutive number one album under Atlantic Records. The trap king is currently in talks to extend his contract, but we’re sure if Roc Nation was standing in the other corner, Atlantic might keep him for another 10 years.
Sam Tsui
The 23 year-old actor/singer got his start on YouTube, belting covers of popular songs from Adele, Nelly, Britney Spears and Bruno Mars (His most viewed cover, Nelly’s “Just a Dream,” has over 59 million views). Although Tsui is signed to NoodleHouse Records, not much has come of it. With the right push from Roc Nation, he can show off his vocal chops on more original music.
Jazmine Sullivan
After announcing her departure from the music industry in 2011, the R&B songbird is due for a comeback. Roc Nation wouldn't hold her back from making the music she wants -- and what R&B needs right now.
Freddie Gibbs
Freddie's latest mixtape Baby Face Killa has given him a bigger audience and more buzz than ever. Last year, Gibbs announced his surprise departure from Young Jeezy’s CTE label, so what’s next? It’s only right that Roc Nation not only manage Gibbs, but sign him to an album deal, too.
Lauryn Hill
Fans have been waiting for Ms Hill’s return to music, and they received it briefly during Nas’ Life is Good Tour last year, when L-Boogie debuted the song, “Black Rage." Why does it feel like it almost never happened? She was also part of a music festival last week called Raggamuffin, but with little or no buzz, so what gives? If the ex-Fugee were a part of Roc Nation, we're sure she'd be all over the radio by now, with a lot more promo.
