5 Female R&B Groups That Should Get Back Together

5 Female R&B Groups That Should Get Back Together

Christopher Harris Posted January 12, 2013
Destiny's Child

The Destiny's Child trio -- Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams -- have become megastars individually. The recent news that the trio has reunited after eight years has put many of their fans in a frenzy. Their new album Love Songs only features one new track, the spacey Pharrell-produced "Nuclear," but they have recently confirmed a performance at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. In honor of the new Destiny's Child album and upcoming performance, VIBE has put together a list of a few other female R&B groups we'd like to see get back together!
En Vogue

Without a doubt, En Vogue was one of the most successful female R&B groups ever. The funky divas captivated fans all over the country with their sultry, soulful tunes that included the hit "Free Your Mind." Although, the group hosted a carousal of members throughout their run, the original group coming back together to make new music would be epic. The last En Vogue album, Soul Flower, was released in 2004.
3LW

These three little women broke through with their hit "No More" back in the fall of 2000. The group's debut, self-titled album sold over a million copies. Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams have each individually seen success as actresses. If the original members could put aside their differences for the sake of music, they'd definitely be able to make an impact today.
Floetry

Marsha Ambrosius has become a success on her own with the recent release of Late Nights & Early Mornings, the U.K. singer's first official solo LP in 2011. But, the dynamic that the songstress and floacist Natalie Stewart brought to music was unprecedented. Their soul/hip-hop/poetic fusion helped propel the already burgeoning genre of neo soul. Hopefully, these two "say yes" when it comes time to produce another album together.
TOTAL

Kima, Keisha, and Pam's debut album, TOTAL, was certified platinum back in the mid 90's. In mid-2012, Pamela Long stated on her official Twitter account, that TOTAL is currently in the studio, recording new material. She also said, that we can expect new stuff from TOTAL soon. Hopefully, they're able to join with the new Bad Boy roster for some more memorable remixes.
SWV

You really can't talk about female R&B groups without mentioning SWV. The Sisters With Voices haven't exactly given up on their music or each other. The trio performed on BET's award show Black Girls Rock last year and was featured on the remix to Chris Brown's sample of their own song ,"She Ain't You." We just hope they stay together!
