Dame Dash’s inflammatory remarks about key music industry figures is still burning bridges. Former Def Jam executive Joie Manda recently responded to Dame calling him a “culture vulture.” And Hot 97’s DJ Funk Flex questioned Dame’s claims while on air, arguing that Def Jam put millions of dollars behind the Roc.
Public Enemy frontman Chuck D also joined the mix, claiming that Hot 97's Summer Jam represents a “sloppy representation” of New York hip-hop. Hot 97 host Peter Rosenberg fired back, stating that no one appointed Chuck D president of hip-hop. Rosenberg also questioned Chuck D's support for the culture.
