5 Rappers Who Should Host The Grammy Awards One Day

5 Rappers Who Should Host The Grammy Awards One Day

VIBE Posted January 4, 2013
Yesterday, we put together a list of the 5 Reasons We're Glad LL Cool J Is Hosting The Grammy Awards Again. And, our fifth and final reason on that list was that, by hosting the Grammys again, LL is opening the door for other rappers to host the Grammy Awards in the future as well. So, with that in mind, we decided to revisit the issue today and throw together a list of the 5 Rappers Who Should Host The Grammy Awards One Day. Wouldn't these guys look great strutting around on the Grammy stage introducing presenters and performers?
The Rapper: Ludacris

Why He'd Make A Great Grammy Awards Host: Of all the names you're going to read on this list, we think that Luda probably makes the most sense. Like LL, he's moved from rapping into acting pretty successfully. And, he's also got the charisma that it takes to host a major event like the Grammys. We don't see him hosting the show anytime soon. But, in a few years when he's got a little more name recognition amongst moviegoers, we wouldn't be surprised at all to see Luda take the Grammy stage.
The Rapper: Ice Cube

Why He'd Make A Great Grammy Awards Host: WTF? Are we really suggesting that one of the greatest gangsta rappers of all time would be a good Grammys host? Why, yes, we are. Although Cube's never really done much hosting, he's appeared in countless movies and TV commercials in the past, so people would instantly identify him if he ever hosted the Grammys. With the right writers behind him, we also think he could inject a little bit of life into a show that's typically been pretty bland in the past.
The Rapper: Snoop Dogg

Why He'd Make A Great Grammy Awards Host: In reality, it'd probably be pretty ridiculous to see Snoop stroll across the Grammy stage. But, if there's any rapper out there who has the right connections to land the Grammys hosting gig, it's Snoop. We think he'd tear the house down with great intros for the presenters and performers, and he'd be able to do a handful of funny skits during the course of the show.
The Rapper: 50 Cent

Why He'd Make A Great Grammy Awards Host: At this point in his career, we don't think Fif is right for the part. But, in a few years when he's done beefing with other rappers on Twitter and starting problems, we could definitely see him trying to host (or maybe co-host?) a major event like the Grammys. 50 has charisma for days and, although his music might not suggest it, he connects to a 13-year-old middle school boy just as easily as he connects to an elderly woman. He's a likable guy who would definitely be a great Grammys host. You know, just as long as Rick Ross or French Montana aren't up for any awards that particular year.
The Rapper: Eminem

Why He'd Make A Great Grammy Awards Host: It's Eminem! The guy has done some pretty remarkable things at the Grammy Awards in the past. So, why not put a cherry on top of a successful music career by hosting the biggest night in music? Okay, okay. so, we know that there's, like, 0.0000000001 chance of Em ever agreeing to do this. But, who knows? As he gets older, maybe something like this would appeal to him. It'd be pretty insane to see him do it.
