Reason #1: It's been awhile since we've received an official MMG release.
Technically, French Montana's new album, Excuse My French, was released through MMG, in addition to Bad Boy and Interscope. But French is more of an MMG affiliate than a full-fledged member. So if you remove his album from the running, it's been about seven months since Meek Mill dropped Dreams and Nightmares, which is the last official MMG album to hit stores. That's entirely too long for a label like MMG to go between releases. Wale's forthcoming album, The Gifted, is a start. But Self Made Vol. 3 will help to reestablish the label as a force and show the world that MMG isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
