5 Reasons Why Timbaland Performing at VIBE House Will Be Epic

Posted March 15, 2012
Very few artists or producers have been able to criss-cross between musical genres like super-producer Timbaland, who's created tracks for Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake and One Republic. When VIBE learned the rapper/producer will be gracing our SXSW house stage this weekend in Austin, Texas we decided to compile a list of five reasons why Timb’s performance will be nothing less than epic and legendary. -- Johnathan Cruse
Since professing his love for the late songstress this past year following the decade anniversary of her untimely death, Aaliyah has been a pretty touchy subject for the artist/producer. But even he can’t deny nor ignore his significance in her One In a Million album. *cues "4 Page Letter"*
He had two very popular compilation albums that featured Drake, Justin Timberlake and 50 Cent. He could bring anybody out as a guest. Think about it!
"Supa Dupa Fly (I Can’t Stand the Rain)" ... What else needs to be said?
Any artist that can come up with a record club-ready beat in a 10-minute time frame, while in front of a studio audience, and still seem to maintain the concertgoers’ full attention is worth checking out.
True Timbo fans know that the big homey not only made smashes for Missy and Ginuwine, but his duo with fellow Virginian Magoo produced classics that are still relevant even a decade later. Need we remind you of "Luv 2 Luv Ya" or "Up Jumps da Boogie?"
