5 Things We Noticed About Wiz Khalifa's 'O.N.I.F.C.' Album
Wiz Khalifa has some real surprises on his newly released sophomore album, O.N.I.F.C.
Not surprising in the sense that we didn't expect it to be a hit. His debut album, Rolling Papers, topped Billboard's Hip-Hop chart, so we know the kid's got the commercial sales on lock. What surprised us was the direction he decided to take this time around.
From the daring album cover to the "back to basics" approach, we rounded out 5 things we noticed about O.N.I.F.C that actually ended up working in his favor.

1. More Kush & OJ-Influenced Songs
One thing fans & critics can both agree on about Rolling Papers is that it strayed away from that fun & "smoker's delight" vibe that we got on Wiz's breakout mixtape, Kush And OJ. On O.N.I.F.C., Wiz took steps to getting back to that sound, and he benefitted from it in the process.
2. The Added Features
There seems to be more features this time around than on any of his past projects. Out of 17 songs, 10 feature at least one guest. Luckily, that's not a bad thing. We just wish there was a super Taylor Gang team cut. Third time's the charm, we hope.
3. The 'Two Cams' Of Hip-Hop On Record Together
The irony of Cam'Ron Giles & Cameron Thomaz (the name on Wiz Khalifa's birth certificate) getting on wax together is like a hip-hop fantasy come to life. We hope to hear more from these two in the future, especially on Killa Cam's next project—whenever that is.
4. No Features From 50 Cent
From the hints all this year that the two MCs were in the studio together (including the release of their collaboration, "Telescope"), we figured 50 Cent would be a shoe-in for O.N.I.F.C. Unfortunately, not one Wiz/50 collabo appeared—including the deluxe edition. Hopefully they get that straightened out soon, as they seem to work well together.
5. Amber Rose 'Freestyling' On "Rise Above"
Wiz took the lady of his life, Amber Rose, and put her on one of the most anticipated songs on the whole project. We're not here to judge her mic skills, but Pharrell can pretty much make anything sound like gold. Her presence alone was surprising enough though.
