Big Sean
Opponent:
N/A (unless you can hear the name that homie in the middle is screaming).
Why It's Memorable:
This is some of the best, and only, footage there is of a "Young Sean" doing what made him finally famous in the first place—battle rapping. The punchlines are a bit cheesy, but given their age at the time Sean did a pretty impressive job.
The Notorious B.I.G.
Opponent:
N/A
Why It's Memorable:
Biggie proves in this short clip that he was one of the greatest starting from the tender age of 17. This battle alone will go on to inspire generations of street MCs. Rest in eternal peace, sir.
Eminem
Opponent:
AllStar
Why It's Memorable:
Eminem literally raps circles around the other dude. Recorded just a few years before he became the great white hope for hip-hop, this rap battle shows off his trademark ill flow & proves that he was destined to do this.
Remy Ma
Opponent:
Lady Luck
Why It's Memorable:
Remy was on fire in this battle. Actually, this is arguably the moment that the hip-hop world took notice of her quick jabs and slick bars, possibly even proving she's better than some dudes in the game. We can't wait to see if she's still got it when she's walking out of prison in a couple of years.
Busta Rhymes
Opponent:
Random high school rapper
Why It's Memorable:
Busta gets props for not being the typical celebrity & brushing the kid off. You can tell they were having fun in this exchange of words.
Loaded Lux
Opponent:
Calicoe
Why It's Memorable:
When you do something as hilarious and bold as coming out with your opponent's face on a obituary and getting your entire clique to dress for a funeral, you must win. Loaded Lux did exactly that. This 40+ minute battle is worth every minute of your time.
Eli Porter
Opponent:
Envy
Why It's Memorable:
Before you laugh, think about the cleverness it took for them to come up with those bars & the bravery it took to stand there and rap for the camera. Ok, now you can laugh.
