2. Suzie Wants A Man; Evelyn Misses Chad
It’s become all too clear that Basketball Wives: Miami spent a lot of its first weeks of production filming in Los Angeles. I’d normally feel a ways about that, but then again, we’ve all seen Basketball Wives: L.A., haven’t we? Moving on, Suzie and Eve have a heart to heart themed around them both needing love, love, love, love, crazy love. Suzie started talking about her ex, rehashing everything we heard five seasons ago. I guess, girl. Anyhow, Suzie goes on to express her desire to find another man and get some beans in that oven. She says she’s even decided to window shop at a sperm bank and begin price checking on deals that lead to a baby delivery. Evelyn will have none of that, telling her that she will indeed find love in due time.
Meanwhile, Evelyn says she continues to feel “spiritually connected” to Chad. And she’s considering celibacy for a year. Later Evelyn stops by her mom’s house – tell her happy belated birthday, y’all – to talk about the fallout of her marriage with Mama Eve and Sister Eve. I wouldn’t do this, but Evelyn looked at her mama square in the eye and said the following about Chad, “That’s my n***a.” Actually, I kind of wish I could do this with Mama Mike, but whatever. We bond in other ways like throwing shade.
As much as I feel for Evelyn’s situation, I sure hope this won’t last all season. It’s hard watching a woman cry, especially if she didn’t put on waterproof mascara and always ends up looking like the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.
