Justin Bieber knows how to move a crowd. Throughout the course of his young career, he’s rocked everything from the SplashDown Beach Water Park in Fishkill, N.Y. to Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City—and left thousands of pre-teens and tweens swooning in their seats as a result.

However, things don’t always go so smoothly for Biebs. Late last week, he was at Macy’s in the Big Apple to promote his new fragrance, Someday, when he attempted to greet approximately 400 fans from the confines of a secure area set up by New York City police officers. But after a few minutes, Bieber reportedly made his way outside of that area to continue to try and say hello to more fans and nearly caused a stampede as members of the crowd fought to break through metal barricades that had been put up for the event. The incident resulted in a member of Bieber’s security team being issued a summons for failure to comply with the wishes of the NYPD.

This isn’t the first time an entire crowd full of people has caught Bieber fever at once and gotten out of control, either. It’s happened a number of times since JB first popped up on the scene in 2009. To show you what we mean, we went out and gathered five of the craziest incidents involving Justin Bieber and large crowds. Catch the fever!—Chris Yuscavage
