Big K.R.I.T., Mr. MFN eXquire, Killer Mike, & Flatbush Zombies Perform At MTV Hive's CMJ Showcase
CMJ week has been in full effect in NYC, with live performances and countless showcases happening all over the city.
VIBE got a chance to check out MTV Hive's official CMJ Showcase, featuring live performances from Killer Mike, LE1F, Mr. MFN eXquire, Big K.R.I.T., & Flatbush Zombies.
Killer Mike opened the showcase, performing some of his classics like "Never Scared" and the Big Boi collaboration "Kryptonite." What really amazed the crowd though was his A-capella version of his politically driven single "Reagan."
Following up was boundary-breaker LE1F, who did an eclectic mix from his catalogue of music. Standing out as the more visual artist featured in the showcase, his set definitely was the most original of the night.
Shortly afterwards, Mr. MFN eXquire came through to get the crowd really moving. With some ill beats and a mouth full of gold, eXquire had everyone in the room in a mosh-pit state of mind.
Big K.R.I.T. came through to bless the audience with cuts off his latest Live From The Underground album. The energy this guy exudes on stage is completely his own, making for a performance that was both aesthetically intriguing and sonically on point.
Closing out the showcase was the Flatbush Zombies, who brought a mix of dope streetwear style and verses for days to the stage. Their live performance of "Bath Salts" was by far one of the more memorable performances of the night.
