Chris Weidman, UFC
Chris Weidman closed out 2013 by possibly ending the career of arguably the greatest UFC fighter to date, Anderson Silva. In case you haven’t seen it, Silva broke his shin bone on Weidman’s knee. But even before the bone shattering injury, Weidman, the defending Middleweight Champion, was winning the fight, recording the only takedown of the night and overpowering Silva with a series of ground and pounds. The 29-year-old New York native is 11-0, with this being his second victory over the living legend. Even though it’s early in his career, you can’t deny greatness. A win over his next opponent, Vitor Belfort, would only make him that much more menacing and quiet the questions of just how good he is.
