Pusha T was a great performer. He had a lot of energy in his performance as well as in his production. There is no question in my mind that many people were there for him specifically as I watched countless people of all races and genders spit every work that Pusha T did. However, what detracted from the overall experience was his self-righteousness and GOOD Music nationalism that he would express between almost every song. Not only was did he advertise his label non-stop, he also proclaimed that his upcoming album will be better than any of the other rap albums that anyone has put out in 2013. I was very excited to see him and nothing belittled my excitement when he did his verses for “Runaway,” “Grindin’,” and “Mercy,” but I could have done without all of the commentary between songs.
