3. NY Giants/Victor Cruz
The New York Giants showed their grief for the 26 Sandy Hook victims during their Sunday (Dec. 17) night game against the Atlanta Falcons by donning the letters S.H.E.S. (Sandy Hook Elementary School) on their helmets. For wide receiver Victor Cruz, his tribute was a little closer to home. Jack Pinto, a 6-year-old was killed in the shooting, was one of his biggest fans. In a personal tribute, Cruz wrote "Jack Pinto, 'MY HERO'," and "This is 4 u!" on his cleats and gloves before the game. “When a family is facing that much tragedy,” Cruz said. “You want to be someone that inspires them and can put a smile on their face in a time where it’s tough to do that." Cruz also contacted Pinto's family, who considered burying Jack in his jersey.
