Teenage artists tend not to hold very much cross-generational appeal. By and large, they resonate loudest with kids in their peer group. Bibby, though, is one 17-year-old to whom the ageist epithet “kiddie rap” does not apply. With his smoker’s hack and streetwise maturity, it’s not surprising that he’s caught on with many of the gruffest dudes of the late ’90s and early ’00s (Shyne, Saigon, Project Pat).
