Chris Brown was nothing but smiles as he decked the halls at a California toy drive for underprivileged kids Sunday (Dec. 22). The 24-year-old singer, who was granted a "day pass" from rehab for the event, spread cheer at Brooklyn Projects Melrose in Los Angeles for his charity toy giveaway, alongside celeb pals Tyga and Kevin Hart.
"Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today," he tweeted after the event. "Have a wonderful holiday. You've made a merry Christmas for a young child!"
While Brown has had a controversial year in and out of the spotlight, Executive Officer Skipp Townsend says he was able to turn it around for the holidays and has been on his best behavior.
"He is doing really well. He is excellent. He was in the right mind and spirit," Skipp tells E! News. "He was really comfortable and it was really good for him. It was a place where he got to relax and be able to be himself and he wanted to help these families and spend some time with his fans and he found a way to do both."
