No pressure. After sitting out the entire 2012-13 basketball season with a torn ACL, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is getting ready to comeback to the hardwood. And, he's doing it in style.
Adidas, the official sponsor of the NBA, and Bulls jersey No. 1 have unveiled the new D Rose 4 shoe and apparel collection. The entire collection is inspired by the two sides of Rose.
“When I’m out on the court I’m doing everything in my power to win, and off the court I’m a pretty laid back guy who likes to spend time with my family,” said Rose in a statement. In addition to the three token stripes on the back heel, the D Rose 4 has a bold line at the ankle to represent Rose's two distinct on and off-court personalities.
Technically speaking, the shoe incorporates adidas’ Crazyquick outsole traction system, new SPRINTWEB technology, GEOFIT ankle support and a molded SPRINTFRAME that will hopefully help him return to MVP status in the 2013-14 season.
The D Rose 4 collection also includes coordinating fleece sweatshirts and pants, tees, shorts, hats and socks. The entire collection, in 3 different colors, launches at adidas.com, Foot Locker, Eastbay on October 10 ranging from $15 to $80. According to adidas, five other editions will launch through the end of the year.
