Definitely the leading vote for classes in New York City, this boutique "school of sound" also offers both in-class and online courses covering all ranges of music production, including Logic Pro and Ableton Live, as well as visual performance for the "VJ" interests. Classes are regularly full, but small enough to feel as if you can really be part of the experience and the teaching has a grade "A" in reputation. I have heard only great things about Dubspot and their in-class courses come highly recommended.

With academies open in Miami, New York, LA and soon to be Chicago, this offline "in school" curriculum is fun, effective & fairly inexpensive. For the peeps that want to learn in an "in-class" environment and for a great price, Scratch may be your best bet. Workshops, Open Houses, Boot Camps & Private classes are also available at each campus as well.
Cost: $1,800 (1 class/week for 24 weeks), $400 per course

Not your "run of the mill" joint by any means, SAE is for the serious player that is "all in" for Music Production & Engineering. A bit more needed in the budget, but the "get what you pay for" motto is fact with SAE.
Cost: $20,000 or more for 12-month programs; $2,000 for 3-month courses

In partnership with Middlesex University and with full support from DJ dons such a Mark Ronson, Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Claude Von Stroke, Point Blank allows you to choose from Degree Level programs with the widest selection of courses I've seen yet. Another kudo is their genre-specific classes that allow you to focus on your true sound passions like Dubstep, Minimal Techno, Deep House & Trance.
