The Moment: Several years after his song "What You Know" helped propel him to the top of the charts, a rapper named Filby came forward and sued T.I. for alleged copyright infringement in January 2010. He claimed that "What You Know" contained elements on a song that he wrote back in 2004.
The Disappointment: If one of T.I.'s most successful songs to date really was stolen, it would discredit Tip as an artist. It was never proven, so T.I.'s still in the clear but it's always disappointing when one of these cases gets taken to a court of law.
How T.I. Overcame It: It's not like "What You Know" was T.I.'s only hit. He's more than done his part to prove that he's a great artist by putting out a string of hits since releasing "What You Know" to the world.
