Fvck Dat! The 10 Most HiiiPower Kendrick Lamar Collabos

Fvck Dat! The 10 Most HiiiPower Kendrick Lamar Collabos

Kevin L. Clark (@DLYDJ) Posted August 13, 2012
It has taken 25 years for the musical stars to align in order for that monotonous radio station to begin to change. While no one would think to turn the knob when MMG or YMCMB is on the air, people are clamoring for change. Enter Kendrick Lamar. The #Section80's baby is getting ready to get his grown man on with, good kid, mA.A.d. city, his first major label release through Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath and Interscope. If Jay Electronica is the svengali of secrecy then K. Dot is a young magi in training, as he has deftly kept critics and fans alike in the dark awaiting any nugget they can use for the e-streets, fan forums and Hip-Hop blogsites.

The latest and greatest is that Compton Kendrick and his new BFF, Lady Gaga, hopped into the studio to add a monstrous element to his debut effort. But for hardcore #HiiiPower heads, you know this is nothing new from the TDE songwriter. Whether he's seducing the ladies with Colin Munroe (on "No Make-Up") or hitting the streets heavy with Black Hippy, the wonderful mind of Kendrick is an alchemist's dream over an Alchemist beat. With that in mind, we here at VIBE.com decided to use our pineal gland to forward think the 10 Most #HiiiPower Kendrick Lamar Collabos, and if you have any you want to add—leave a comment below.
Terrace Martin:

These two are no stranger to one another in the booth having already collaborated on tracks such as "Thirsty" and "Solid Sound Logic" (S.S.L.). But that was when Kendrick was known as "Mr. Soon-To-Be Star" and now that he's seeing success, these two determined artists would make beautiful music together.

Think of K. Dot as the Mike Jack to T Mac's Quincy Jones and our bet is that these two would leave those Rosecrans steps and walk into the history books.
Adele:

Adele's potential as an artist makes most rappers salivate. Her Sade-esque appeal also makes her a person on anyone's wishlist to have in the studio. While Big K.R.I.T., Trae Tha Truth and Big Sean are just a few who've sampled her contralto for their own tracks, fans would gladly put their three's up in the air after Tottenham's finest worked with Compton's Kendrick.

These two twenty-somethings know a thing or two about the inner working of the human heart and could make a coronary cry if given the proper mood setting.
Little Dragon:

Having seeing so many things come through The Hood Internet, it is a surprise that Kendrick and Yukimi Nagano haven't crossed paths already. Both are overly dedicated to their surroundings and if our flux capacitator is on the right dial, in a few years you can say you heard it here first. This collaboration would fully usher in the wave of "Fvck Yo' Ethnicity" on the airwaves, much to the chagrin of fans of Mr. Lamar and Yukimi.

With two distinctively unique voices clashing to create culture conversation on wax, these personalities would weave poetry amidst the sonic backdrops.
Jay-Z:

This collaboration would be what happens when inspiration meets perspiration. The guy who threatened to break Dr. Dre's wrist would bring the #HiiiPower conglomerate straight into Roc Nation's offices and the outcome would be blue magic. King Kendrick and King Jay would be the talk of the monarchy, as they trade verses over King Kanye's buttery synths.

From here on out, it would be decreed a rite of passage to exchange "New God Flow" with Hov.
Outkast:

Concepts are a staple at Top Dawg Entertainment and is something Kendrick cleverly enjoys ever since being an understudy. Outkast, no stranger themselves to using their imagination, would be the perfect collaboration to change the course of young #creativists everywhere. A wise A&R would make his weight in gold if he was the one to get Black Hippy x Outkast x Goodie Mob out to the musical masses.

It would be the "Git Up, Git Out" for the 22nd century.
Melanie Fiona:

Both are no stranger to strange sounds, as Melanie Fiona's debut album found her working with producers like Stereotypes and Vada Nobles. Meanwhile names like Sounwave, Willie B, and Dave Free are familiar names in the TDE dungeon. Add all these ingredients in the pot with Kendrick and Syren as the chefs, and you'll be licking the side of your laptop for second helpings.

It helps to have a bit of Guyanese pepper to sprinkle on a track, too.
Jay Electronica:

Maybe not now, but in the near future these two pantheons of prose will link up in Electric Ladyland to see how far back in time they can go just to start a rhyme. And when it happens, you may want to dig up a little thing called the cassette tape to record and frame (literally!) the moment for prosperity's sake. Roc Nation's svengali and TDE's young magi could do for lovers of lyrics what Jay-Z and B.I.G. did for fiends back in the 90's.

Using their imaginative lyrics to flood the radio with controlled melodious mania, y'all may still call what they do Hip-Hop, but the rest of us will call it hypnotizing.
MeLo-X:

Since when did Black men become kings? History will say that it was the moment these two locked themselves in the chamber room to churn out a treasured sonic jewel. These two Zulu warriors would blend, contort, modify, and break the chains of musical mental slavery.

Malleable in their musical approach and moving with their respective movements, Kendrick and MeLo-X could be two Malcolm's staring out of Hip-Hop's window, painting pictures for the world to see.
Aaliyah:

You can just see it now, right?! Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Missy Elliot and Rashad Haughton all in the studio. Eyes focused on the 25-year-old MC preparing to lay his verse down in the studio. The track is cued, and you hear Aaliyah's heavenly soprano underneath Kendrick's hellish heatrocks providing the soundscape which would eventually be "Heaven & Hell Pt. 2".

Drake might be getting flak for his attempts at making a posthumous album with Baby Girl, but it is his "Buried Alive" co-star who could resurrect the radio.
Hit-Boy:

Hit-Boy and Kendrick are two #Section80's babies who have clawed their way up to the top in their respective circles. Not yet inching into the prime of their musical careers, these two could take n!**@$ out of Paris and have them flashing brake lights all over the globe. With the G.O.O.D. Music beatsmith's knack for knock and K. Dot's "Michael Jordan" bravado, this #HiiiPower collaboration would be a hit-story made in history.

Plus, you already know the music video would be fly, flashy and feng shui enough to shut the InternetS down.
