3. Meet The Parent
Erica and Saigon are continuing to get to know each other in their post-baby making world. Enter Saigon going to Erica’s house and meeting her father for the very first time. Erica Jean’s pops, Robbie, gives classic Black pappy realness, so it's nice to see the two reach some sort of peace accord. Robbie even gives Saigon his blessing for Erica to move in with him, albeit with the warning that he not hurt her again.
Later in the episode, the family all participate in a video Saigon is shooting. During their break, Saigon tells Erica that he doesn't want her to keep going back to her dad’s house. As the two talk, Erica stresses that Saigon needn’t be dealing with other women if she is to move in. That’s when Saigon says, “It’s not a vagina in the world that I’m gonna want more than looking at my son everyday. I want something real and I want him to grow up better than I did.” Be still my heart. The two also talk about having the sex. Romance.
Say what you will about Love & Hip-Hop, but the show does often provide viewers some nominal levels of personal growth.
