Florida aerialist Nik Wallenda accomplished his goal last night (June 23) of completing a tightrope walk that took him a quarter mile over the Little Colorado River Gorge in northeastern Arizona. The 34-year-old scion of the famous "Flying Wallendas" family crossed 1,500 of suspended cable with only his legendary sense of balance between him and certain death.
The Discovery Channel aired the exciting stunt, which comes a year after Nik Wallenda traversed Niagara Falls and earned him his seventh Guinness World Record in the process. Dispensing with the safety harness for his recently attempted feat, this seventh-generation high-wire artist captured the online world's attention with his latest stunt. Clocking in at 22:54, Nik Wallenda defied gravity, amazed skeptics, all the while praising God for accomplishing such a fantastic task. Click through for Twitter's reactions.
