Mariah Knocks ‘Em Out in “Triumphant," But Who Else Is King of The Ring?
Mariah Carey heats up in the boxing ring in her new music video, “Triumphant (Get Em).” From sweat-drenched ab shots or just an excuse to look cute in boxing shorts, here are some other artists who got their Mayweather on. —Sowmya Krishnamurthy (@SowmyaK)
“Mama Said Knock You Out” is the quintessential pugilist anthem. LL Cool J was verbally knocking out his opponents in this 1990 hit and sculpting what would later become the most legendary body in rap. The cameo from James’ granny in the end adds an aww-inducing end to an otherwise aggressive visual.

Canibus - “Second Round K.O.”
Canibus tried to take shots at LL in the 90s and even made his own boxing-themed video to accompany his diss track. Despite a cameo by actual heavyweight champ Mike Tyson, the visual and song were less than a knock out.
98 Degrees - “The Hardest Thing”
Boy band 98 Degrees tried to harden their image with “The Hardest Thing.” Choreographed dancers, faux tears and the pink shine from frontman Nick Lachey’s glossy lips made this quite possibly the softest thing to happen to boxing. …ever.
Christina Aguilera - “Dirrty”
Cleavage and ass-less chaps might not scream boxing at first but Christina, er X Tina, took it there. Even years later, this grungy video makes us want to jump into a vat of Clorox.
Keri Hilson - “Energy”
Miss Keri showed us how to get her killer bod in “Energy.” She made sweaty hair and fingerless gloves look oh-so-good.
Cassie - “Me & U”
We don’t actually see Cassie really do much boxing in “Me & U” but she’s sure sweating hard. Her angelic face and covet-worthy outfits make this a favorite of guys and girls alike.
*Bonus* Floyd Mayweather - “Yep”
It’s one thing for rappers to try to box but boxers trying to rap? Yep. Floyd Mayweather tried his hand at verbal warfare and this janky video is the proof. For someone who can actually hold his own in the ring, we don’t see any boxing. Stick to what you know, Money.
