Yes, Prince’s 1987 MTV double shot of “Sign “O” The Times” and “Play In The Sunshine” was far superior. But his 1991 follow-up stands as easily his most infamous television gig of his storied career. Prince and his NPG crew hit the MTV Awards stage amid an orgy of painted chicks and dudes, fire, and His Royal Badness’ assless pants that lit up censor telephone lines.
