VIBE: It's been three years since you released Battle Of The Sexes. How have you grown and changed in that time period?
Ludacris: Living life, it's all about experience so I've been traveling the world. That's part of the reason this album is called Ludaversal. Definitely handling new experiences with money and fame and all of the experiences that come along with being in the game for over a decade and that's what this album is really about, telling my story for the first time. Letting people get a chance to really get to know who Chris Bridges is.
What made you choose the name Ludaversal?
It's basically a play off words. Ludaversal is like, welcome to my world. Now I'm really letting people in. The last seven albums you got glimpses of my personal life but you never really really got to understand what’s going on.
How'd the name for the album come about? Were you on your jet?
I always have the name of the album before, so basically the album before, I always have the next album in my head.
On Behind the Music you spoke about a song you have on the album dedicated to your father. Can you explain more about it?
"Ocean Skies." Just like on the Behind The Music it was really talking about my father and alcoholism and me losing him. That is basically what the song is about. Like I said, talking about being vulnerable and my personal life, that's really what this album is. That song is about growing up and trying to get him to stop [drinking] and me dealing with that.
There are rumors that Anita Baker may be featured on the album. Is this true?
Maybe. Yeah, yeah. I don't know if the cat's out the bag. Anita Baker is definitely on the album, she's on that particular song.
You are a multi-faceted entertainer now. I want to discuss your acting. Is there any person you could see yourself playing in a biopic?
