"I walk it like I talk it, baby, this pedestrian" —Kendrick Lamar
Lamar dropping in on any song is never a bad thing—throwing K. Dot on a track is like a safety net. Thankfully, Kendrick rose to the challenge and dropped a solid verse, complete with this wordplay on “pedestrian.” As anyone in a city knows, a “pedestrian” is one of those people who crowd the streets and block traffic, someone on foot. Kendrick “walks” his swagger the same way, taking it all over with him. But “pedestrian” has a second meaning: simple and stupidly easy. Dot’s swagger is automatic, no work for someone who does this for a living. His pickup game is second nature, and his verse boosts up an otherwise light track.
