1. Lil’ Mo: The Resurrection
I sometimes wonder if Lil’ Mo had it written into her R&B Divas: L.A. contract that she be allowed to remind viewers that when it comes to past successes in the music industry, she’d like that old thing back. I’d be more bothered by this constant declaration if it weren’t for the fact that Lil’ Mo is correct that she has more vocal talent and personality than most singers in the business – especially when comparing her to her co-stars.
Whatever the case, Lil’ Mo kicked off the show sharing that fun fact for the millionth time, though in this instance it was in relation to the theme of her monologue. Mo’s intent for the monologue to show audiences that she has been born again. She explained, “I’m a new woman. I’ve come a long way. I used to curse you out, now I just curse you out a lil’ bit. We got a birth, y’all.” And naturally, she added baby noises for effect. How long before she’s the first “Diva” to get a spinoff?
