Real Life Jaws Sightings From Across the Dance Sphere

Real Life Jaws Sightings From Across the Dance Sphere

Jessica Wunsch Posted January 31, 2013
People may be freaking out with the recent sighting of a real life "Jaws" near the Hamptons, but we're all-over the jaw spottings that have nothing to do with a giant shark. These real life jaws are those that can spit; from the beatboxers and MCs that display talent though their stunning vocal beats and rhymes.

Here's our list of 10 beatboxers and MCs who have some talented real life jaws ->
MC Conrad
Spending his childhood years listening to his family record collection of gospel, R&B, jazz, rock n’ roll and doo whop, MC Conrad (born Conrad Thompson) found his calling in drum & bass, becoming one the genre’s leading voices. Just ask DnB heavyweight, LTJ Bukem, who used Conrad on his infamous "Progression Sessions" albums.

Riz MC
English rapper/actor Rizwan “Riz” Ahmed prides himself on having an innovative and sharp sound. It's one which has propelled him into dance music history, topping dubstep charts on Beatport at the speed of 140 BPMs.

Daichi
This 22-year-old Japanese human beatbox built a rep after nabbing the third place title at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night last year, getting mad respect from New York and international audiences. Would you guess he self-taught himself the art of beatboxing at the age of 10?

Eklips
This French beatbox artist has been playing the game for over twenty-years now and still kills stages with his re-mastered techniques and boss energy.

Reeps One
One of the forefathers of dubstep beatbox, Reeps One (born Harry Yeff) found inspiration in Police Academy’s Michael Winslow.

Masta Mic
Sporting a unique style – both in his music and fashion – this Russian beatmaster puts on quite the performance; one man entourage included.

Romybeats
Who says boys get to have all the fun? Romy Van Goethem proves girls can beat down sick beats just as harder (and more fly) as her male counterparts.

Dave Crowe
A legend in his own right after a clip of his dubstep beatboxing garnered over 10 million YouTube views, Dave Crowe sets the standard in his field in manipulating his voice to levels never though possible.

R-Tizt
This young aspiring producer does it all, from hip-hop to dubstep to drum & bass; and we’re not just talking about table play. Ben Francis (a.k.a. R-Tizt) is a master of all beatboxing trades.

Rahzel
Former Roots member, Rahzel earned his nickname as the “Godfather of Noyze” through his ability to sing/rap while simultaneously beatboxing, plus he knows how to rev up crowd. "And now the beat and the chorus at the same time."
