The Crazy Moment: In mid-September, Floyd Mayweather Jr. knocked Victor Ortiz out in a controversial ending to their match. During the post-fight interview, HBO Boxing commentator Larry Merchant took exception to the supposed "sucker punch" Money May threw and asked him about it. Mayweather accused Merchant of not being objective, called him a bunch of names that we can't mention here, and refused to talk to him. Merchant responded by saying, "I wish I was 50 years younger. I would have kicked your ass."
Our Reaction: WOW! This interaction alone was pretty much worth the price of admission. We didn't like the ending to the Mayweather/Ortiz fight anymore than Merchant did. But we're sure glad he decided to ask Mayweather about it, because it made for must-see TV. Hands down, our favorite boxing moment of the year.
