Sing That! 7 YouTube Sensations Who Deserve A Recording Deal

Sing That! 7 YouTube Sensations Who Deserve A Recording Deal

Camille Augustin Posted February 7, 2013
No need for "American Idol" or "X Factor" when there's YouTube.

With the boob tube network broadcasting self-made covers and original pieces in bulk, it’s become easier for aspiring singers to get their faces seen and voices heard. Check out this list of seven YouTube singers who need a contract STAT.
1) Durand Brennar

YouTube Views: 6,472,527

This man can’t only sing but saaanngg. With his covers of Beyonce and Rihanna hits, the former back-up singer of Erykah Badu delivers potent vocals. Get tipsy with YouTube's Alcohol Harmony.

2) Jade Novah

YouTube Views: 13,146,486

With killer style to match her deadly voice, Jade Novah is joining the ranks responsible for R&B’s resurrection. She has already reinvented Rihanna’s singles “Stay” and “Diamonds” and isn’t shy to show her fierce side with a few Beyonce hits. Wicked with the pen, Novah made a name for herself, writing songs for Melanie Fiona and Mya. But once her notes hit the mic, you’ll understand why she already has a publishing deal with Rondor/Universal Music Publishing.

3) Van Jess

YouTube Views: 40,460,426

Drop what you're doing this instant and check out their '90s R&B medley below and come back to read the rest of this post. Finished? Now that you’re done traveling down memory lane, Ivana and Jessica present a fresh and youthful spin to tracks like J.Cole’s “Workout" and Drake’s “Headlines" and even add a piano to Rihanna’s ratchet anthem “Pour It Up.” Hear it to believe it.

4) Elli Ingram

YouTube Views: 96,010

With headlines surrounding Kendrick Lamar’s success, it’s only right that you come correct for a K-Dot cover. U.K.’s belle received an A-plus for her rendition of “Poetic Justice," ushering throngs of listeners to her YouTube page where covers of Bob Marley and Frank Ocean have also attracted much attention.

5) Chloe & Halle Bailey

YouTube Views: 13,599,608

These two little powerhouse divas were crowned Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing.” Their singing talents have extend far beyond the small screen as the pint-sized belters have gotten face time on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

6) Jayesslee

Youtube Views: 134,108,507

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, the asian starlets can sing crisply in Korean, and play a mean guitar. Just their acoustic rendition of Psy’s electrifying dance track “Gangnam Style” is melodic enough to keep the clicks coming.

7) Alexa Goddard

YouTube Views: 41,828,944

Your earbuds will tingle as her runs weave in and out of her spot-on covers. Alexa covers pretty a wide range of genres from alternative to R&B. Whitney Houston served as this YouTuber's inspiration, posting a video of her booming version of the late songstress’ “Greatest Love Of All.”
